SteelSeries Nova Pro Wireless Warzone EQ (Tuned Preset)
The Nova Pro Wireless runs everything through Sonar, which makes setup order matter more than on most headsets. This guide uses the Nova Pro Wireless tuned Warzone preset in DoveSonicEQ: the proven Warzone mix corrected for this headset, with Sonar neutralized and EAPO on the right endpoint.
1) Neutralize Sonar and check the endpoint
Sonar sits between Windows and your ears, so it can quietly undo a tuned preset two ways: its own EQ curve stacked on top, and the wrong output device receiving your audio.
- Turn the Sonar equalizer off or flat and spatial audio off.
- Use the stereo Game output, not Chat, for game audio.
- Attach Equalizer APO to that exact playback device, with DoveSonicEQ's managed include in place, then reboot once. If you hear no change later, this endpoint mismatch is almost always why.

2) Load the tuned Warzone preset
In DoveSonicEQ, open Headphone-Tuned Game EQs, pick SteelSeries Nova Pro Wireless, and choose the Warzone mix:
- V1: stronger footstep presence with a fuller sound.
- V2: less bassy, more focus on clarity and positioning.
Flip between the tuned preset and Bypass right away. Explosions should lean out while movement detail steps forward.
3) Only have Sonar sliders? Convert the preset
If you ever need the tuning inside Sonar's fixed sliders instead of DoveSonicEQ, download the preset text from EQ Presets, paste it into the EQ converter, and get 10-band slider values. Fixed sliders are approximate, but they beat guessing.
4) Lift steps, save, done
- Set Improved Loudness Equalization near 48-50% with Peak Control on; add Volume Lock only if spikes still bother you.
- If your own shots bury steps, add Lower Own Gunfire near 50% strength. Guide: lower your own gunfire volume.
- Bypass compare, then save it as one preset per game.
